Hey internet/fans/little Admirals,

We wanted to update you on what’s been happening with Sons of Admirals since the release of Here Comes My Baby last year. We had a great time recording the song, and those of us who were lucky enough to play it live enjoyed the experience that came with it. We really can’t thank all of you enough for your support for the song, the project and our endeavours in general.

Sons of Admirals have been offered a number of opportunities and deals in the wake of the release of Baby, and we’ve been kept pretty busy responding to and meeting with a number of companies, people and managers regarding the future of the band. Trying to get into the charts put a lot of pressure on us to do things a certain way, and as much as we could, we tried to maintain our individuality, and our approach to making and releasing music. Unfortunately, a lot of the pressures we faced were unavoidable, and in some cases, not very enjoyable.

We started Sons of Admirals as an experiment. The aim was to get into the charts, and to increase exposure for our individual talents; Charlie’s videos, Alex’s wit, Ed’s voice and Tom’s musicianship. To some extent that has worked. The interest in our individual exploits has increased, and we’re very grateful for that. The core goal though, proved to run against too many of our beliefs and approaches to music and promotion.

We tried to retain integrity while making music as Sons of Admirals, but in the end that integrity was compromised, and as such we announce with heavy hearts that we won’t be making anymore music as Sons Of Admirals. We will of course continue creating videos, music and (in some cases) playing cards on our own and sometimes with each other, and we hope that you will continue to enjoy them.

Last week, all four Admirals popped into The Sun HQ to play together for the FIRST TIME since recording debut single “Here Comes My Baby”. We jammed an acoustic version of ‘Baby, and a stripped down version of EXCLUSIVE B-side “Believe In Yourself” - yup, that’s the Arthur theme tune - both of which will be available on the official single re-release on the 25th of October! We also played Ed’s track “You’re Not There” and a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”. Check out our Biz Session!

Hey little Admirals (your nickname for this blog post only), here’s how you can help us get our song places :)

Here’s how it works - radio stations get given songs, and then they have a week or two before their meeting to decide if they wanna play the song or not. In that time, they have the ability to play the song if it’s requested. Here Comes My Baby is currently in that in-between stage, and if you wanna help us with our requesting efforts, we’d be most grateful, because this is our only real shot to make them sit up and take notice :D

Alex made a big deal out of writing letters in his YouTube video on the subject, but you can also just text or call the relevant radio stations - all of the numbers for all the radio stations in the UK can be found right here.

And Now We Wait

Hey Guys!

A few of you have got in touch to let us know that Here Comes My Baby is no longer on iTunes. This is all part of the plan and we’re sorry we haven’t filled you in sooner, but we were waiting for everything to fall into place!

The single is being prepared for re-release in October as part of a Digital Bundle which means all sorts of brand new, exclusive content. We’re doing this so that we can promote the single with an official release date, and mount a spectacular radio, tv and press promotion attack that the song really deserves!

Thanks to everyone who bought the single this time ‘round, you’ll always have a special place in our hearts! So let’s get ready for a really exciting couple of months, and hopefully a number one record this autumn!
